Rest and be Thankful – Bus Stop update

Bus Stop – update

As Chair of Lochgoil Community Council I wish to give you an update on progress so far with regards to our Bus service from the bus stop/turning circle at the Rest and Be Thankful.

Argyll and Bute Council have now applied for a T R O  (Traffic Regulation Order) which will restrict the parking of all unauthorised vehicles which will then make it possible for all service buses to use this facility to support our community local and visitors 7 days a week.

As a Community Council, we have sent a letter of support to Paul Farrell transportation and development manager Argyll & Bute Council in Dunoon 01369708613 address will be at the bottom of this update.

Request from Iain MacInnes:

“Your support by letter or e-mail would add weight to this application to Scottish government comments to Mr Farrell by the Friday 13th October which after this consultation exercise details will be published locally.”

As you might know this service stops for a winter period from 1st November to the end of March 2018, but hopefully with your input and support to this T R O application we as a Community council supported by A & B Council will be looking for an all year-round service giving the community confidence to support and make use of this service the motto being: Use it or lose it
