Introduction

Welcome to the Lochgoilhead Bowling Club section of the Lochgoilhead Community Website. We are ‘A Wee Club With A Big Heart’, our main objective being to promote fellowship and friendly rivalry on the ‘Green’! The Club was founded in 1911 and except for the years 1954-1983, has been going strong ever since. Everyone is welcome to come and share in the enjoyment offered as Members or Visitors alike.

Fees, Rules & Information

  • Annual membership – Adults £40
  • Juniors membership – £15
  • Visitors £4 per session
  • The season runs from April through to the end of September
  • We operate an ‘Honesty Box’ policy – just sign the book and deposit your fee in the slot marked for such purposes in the Clubhouse
  • Bowls, jacks and mats are to be found in the Clubhouse
  • Flat soled shoes must be worn at all times on the green
  • Green only available outside game times

Competitions and Social

Every other weekend we have Club Competitions which are normally followed by a very pleasant social evening in the Clubhouse. There are also three Open Invitation Competitions, held in May, July and September which are sponsored by local businesses (for which we are truly grateful). It takes a lot of money to keep the Green up to a good standard so, to raise funds, we hold events in the form of Cabaret Nights in the Village Hall. This year we are also hosting a Cabaret on the 26th July featuring a Tribute to Abba, By the Dancing Queen.
