Village Hall Trust – Seeking your suggestions and support

Dear Community,

As Chair of the Lochgoilhead Village Hall Trust, I write this update on behalf of my fellow Trustees as we are seeking your suggestions and support.

I am sure the whole community is aware that the Village hall / Community Hub has had to remain closed during the Covid-19 pandemic and, as a consequence, we have been unable to raise revenue for almost all of this year to date and it is likely to remain so throughout the remainder. During this same period, we still have had significant outgoings which has resulted in our funds becoming seriously depleted.

You may remember that the Trustees at the beginning of the year embarked on a project of repair/refurbishment, this is a phased approach.

  • Phase 1, planning and preparation, Complete.
  • Phase 2, Essential Repairs
  • Phase 3, Refurbishment/Improve Environmental footprint/Reduce energy consumption

We are very happy to report that we have now raised enough funds to complete Phase 2 of this project, Essential repairs.

As of 7th December, a total of £35,587.50 has been raised.

The funds have been raised through the efforts of the Trustees, Community Trust and by you the Community who have donated very generously to the Localgiving appeal setup to support the Village Hall.

Your donation is much appreciated.

The works to complete Phase 2 will start in early January and be completed before the end of the Spring.

We are extremely grateful for the level of support shown to this very worthwhile project, it clearly demonstrates just how much the Village Hall means to the community.

We continue to seek your support for Phase 3 of this project, Refurbishment/Improve Environmental footprint/Reduce energy consumption. This is very important for the long-term future of the Village Hall, drive down operating costs and continue to improve the facilities offered to the community.

Our fund-raising target to complete all three phases, from all sources, at the start of the project was £65,000. Due to the efforts of all we can complete Phase 2 and now have started to raise funds for Phase 3 which will require up to £30,000.

Please give us your support, we the Trustees will continue to do our very best to source funding and complete the project to a standard that you can continue to be proud of and share many more memorable moments for years to come.
