Forestry & Land Scotland has arranged a drop-in session in Lochgoilhead Village Hall on Wednesday 20th July, 3pm – 7pm, to provide information on their latest forest plan. The session will provide an opportunity to find out about what is upcoming in terms of forestry work on the FLS estate, in particular in response to the spread of the Larch disease, Phytophthora ramorum. All welcome.

Meanwhile, Forestry & Land Scotland has provided the following update on local operations, as of mid-June:
Visitor Services:
- We are working with the local team to get fence around playpark fixed soon.
Harvesting:
- Monevechadan – ongoing
- Pole Flats winch coupe – ongoing
- Donich Glen coupe – site almost complete
- Corrow – finishing this week
- Carrick Castle road, above Lochwood House – ongoing
- Behind Drimsynie House Hotel & Chalet Park – later this year, Larch site with suspect trees
- Drumsyniebeg, at the hairpin (Gleann Canachadan) – later this year, infected Larch
- Inveronich – later this year, infected Larch
Roads and quarries:
- Upgrade and extension to a ramp (an access into the trees constructed off the forest road) into the coupe that stands behind the Drimsynie House Hotel and Chalet Park. Material will come from the quarry adjacent to this coupe within the forest.
Forest management:
- Carrick Castle Road, below Cruach nam Miseag – some pesticide spraying for weevil, weather dependent; no access restrictions will apply
Larch disease (Phytophthora ramorum):
- The Larch has now flushed and Scottish Forestry, the regulator, is now conducting site investigations across Scotland to identify new infected sites. We are usually informed of the results from August.
