Village Hall Notes February 2018
Firstly a wee vote of thanks to all who helped put on the Hogmanay Party The participants who decorated te tables and the hall The volunteerd who gave up their New Year to tend the Bar and keep the party flowing. The live entertainers and backroom crew who put together another memorable evening. All of these people donated their time and returned a healthy profit on the night of over £1,600 towards the village hall funds.
But the biggest thank you goes to the people who bought tickets and joined in what was reported to be a great party conducted in a great venue with a magnificent atmosphere.
Well done to each and every one who attended and remember reserve your tickets for next year early as once again the event was vastly oversubscribed with many a disappointed would be revellers
The village Hall will host the first ever Lochgoilhead Village Hall Burns Night and Ceilidh on Saturday the 3rd February.
There will be a full Burns Supper Menu served with traditional “ongoings” including a few Witty speeches and some Burns Poetry interspersed with music and traditional Dancing to “waggle yer Wallies” to and plenty opportunity to “Bounce oan yer Bunyins” with a bar and table service throughout the night.
Tickets for this event are strictly limited to sixty and at point of writing are just about sold out and with a price of £12:50 for 3 course meal and entertainment no wonder demand is high.
The hall has suffered a bit of roof damage over the winter and we hope to raise enough money for a full structural survey to enable us to seek funding all for the work which if not attended to will mean very costly repairs in the future. We need to have an ongoing improvement plan if the hall is to be the hub of the community for the next hundred years.
The Village hall Volunteer Group are planning next years programme with projects under consideration and planning such as “Casino Goyale” The “Gala Day Ceilidh” The Goils Got the X factor Voice” and are looking to bring in some top tribute bands.
The Group are always on the lookout for additional members who are willing to give up their time on upcoming projects and maybe have a bit of fun promoting the hall as a social and cultural centre for the community.
