Fund Raising Event: Lochgoil Jetty Trust 11th August 2018
Lochgoil Jetty Trust’s pontoon and walkway has been in place for approximately 16 years thanks to the drive and implementation by Leslie Cuthbertson, Tom Murray, Callum McCarthur and numerous volunteers.
It has served us well over the years allowing access from the water by visitors, locals and The Scout Centre, which has directly benefited the community.
Sadly, the pontoon is past its best, as the Jetty Trust has been more than aware of, for some time.
To this end the Trust have been very active over the last few months in approaching engineering companies to come up with a design and cost for our replacement. We realise, that to provide a robust, aesthetically designed facility we must use the appropriate professional companies.
We have a proposed plan which still needs modifying but will cost in the region of £65,000.00 plus VAT, thus the need for some serious fundraising. The plan will be available at the dance for viewing. The benefit of this facility has also been highlighted in the Community Action Plan published recently.
The Trust must thank Angus Unkles, in advance, for arranging this event in our Village Hall showing such enthusiastic, positive support, fundraising for our replacement pontoon.
