Competition Results

There was a great turnout for The Lochgoilhead Open Stableford in aid of MND Scotland on Saturday 24th June.  The weather was fair and everyone enjoyed playing golf and socialising thereafter at the 19th (Fireside Bar).  Billy Carvel was the overall winner with a magnificent score of 41 points, after a count back, Dianne Paton was declared the overall runner up with a score of 39 points and Kevin Yancouskie was third, also with a score of 39 points.   A special thank you to the staff of Drimsynie House Hotel for all their support and for providing complimentary bacon rolls and beverages before the Open commenced.  A special thank you to our Starter, Davey Moffat and to Eleanor Ryce and Jacquelyn Jenkins for taking the entry fees, distributing mars bars, water and golf balls to all the golfers.

The Club’s fundraising activities for MND Scotland continued with an evening event in The Goil Inn. The Goilers very kindly provided the musical entertainment for all the golf members, family and friends. There was also a putting competition, an auction and a raffle on the night.  Special thanks to the Goilers for entertaining us all evening, many people that attended the event remarked that the Goilers were very good and that they had helped to make the evening a great success. Thank you to everyone that donated super auction and raffle prizes. Thank you to all the staff in The Goil Inn and everyone that came along and supported the event. A massive thank you to our main sponsor, Mr Andy McCunn of Lochgoilhead Taxis.  Everyone had a fantastic day and evening and the phenomenal sum of £1,233.17 was raised for MND Scotland.

The Division 1 winner of the Saturday medal held on 1st July was Colin Park with a net score of 66, the Division 2 winner and lowest gross score was Ian Wilkes with a net score of 54.

The overall winners of the Robin McFeat Texas Scramble held on Saturday 8th July were Colin Park, Billy Carvel and Martin McLean with a net score of 60.   Callum McArthur, Alisdair Pattison and Ian Wilkes were overall runners up and lowest gross score with a net score of 60.6.

Kevin Wingate and Martin McLean were winners of the Carrick Greensome played on Saturday 15th July, 2017.

The overall winner of the medal competition played on Saturday 23rd July was Kevin Wingate with a net 58.

Twos recorded were as follows :-

Saturday 24th June –  Ian Wilkes on 4th hole and Christian Carvel on 7th hole

Saturday 1st July  – Alan Howden on 7th hole, Colin Park on 10th hole, Ian Wilkes on 14th hole and Derek Gibson on 15th hole.

Congratulations to all our competition winners and to everyone that had recorded twos on the course.

Mid-Week Club Outing 

Members of the club travelled to Helensburgh Golf Course on Thursday 20th June to participate in the third mid-week club outing of the season.  John Wright was declared the winner on the day with 32 points.

We will be only too happy to let you have all the information that you require.  Our annual subscription is £35 and we have no joining fee. Green fees are payable direct to Drimsynie House Hotel.

The Captain, Mr Jim Paton and all the committee members are looking forward to seeing you all out on the course and at the 19th (Fireside Bar), Drimsynie House Hotel.
