NEWS – Lochgoilhead Golf Club

The Lochgoil versus the Firemen Challenge Match was held on Saturday 26th August. Everyone that participated had a thoroughly enjoyable day.  After a hard fought, but fun challenge, the members of the Scottish Fire Service were the victors on the day. Many thanks to Argyll Holidays for kindly providing complimentary breakfast rolls and beverages.

Mid-Week Club Outing 

Members of the club travelled to Ballochmyle Golf Course on Thursday 31st August to participate in the monthly mid-week club outing.   Kevin Yancouskie was declared the winner on the day with 39 points.

Club Annual Outing

The Club’s annual outing to Taynuilt Golf Club on Saturday 2nd September was voted a success by all the members that went on the trip, even the sun shone throughout the day. The winner of the Stableford competition was Kevin Yancouskie with 41 points.

The Club’s Over 60’s Final and the Ladies Final was postponed on Saturday 9th September and the medal scheduled for Sunday 10th September was cancelled due to the course conditions.

Captain’s Day

There was a fantastic turnout for the Captain’s Day medal competition on Saturday 16th September. After a countback, Dianne Paton was declared the winner with a net score of 57 and Kevin Yancouskie was the runner-up.  Christian Carvel won the Longest Drive and Kevin Wingate won Nearest the Pin. The Captain, on behalf of the Club, thanked Colin Smith, the Green Keeper for all his hard work throughout the season.   Argyll Holidays very kindly provided complimentary breakfast rolls and beverages before the medal competition and the Club provided a hot buffet for the competitors and their partners afterwards. Thank you very much to all who turned out to the make the day a great success.   Many thanks to Argyll Holidays for all their support for the Club.
