Lochgoil Watersports Club – NEWS

The Club held their Annual Fishing Competition on Saturday 22nd July.  10 boats with 24 anglers were out on the waters around Loch Goil from 10.00am till 4.00pm, keen to land the biggest fish of the day.  All the anglers were provided with free live bait supplied by Kevin & Gayle Wingate. The weather conditions improved from rain at the start of the day to dry and fair towards the end of the day. After the weigh-in, Alice Holmes was declared the winner with a pollock weighing in at 2lb, Allan Paton was the runner-up.  The winner of the Junior Trophy was Rebecca Thomson, aged 8, who caught a mackerel weighing in at 10oz.  After the trophies and prizes were presented, the club held a BBQ for all the anglers.   A big thank to Gayle Wingate, Bobby Allan and John Robertson Snr who organised the event on behalf of Lochgoil Watersports Club and also to Bruce Martin of Guns & Tackle, who very kindly donated all the prizes.
