Join the Lochgoil Trust
The Trust is important to the future of our village.
Life membership is a one-off payment of £5 and entitles you to a vote at the AGM provided you have been a member for at least seven days.
There is often confusion as to what the Trust does in relation the Community Council. The Trust was formed to access funding denied to the Community Council as a result of the restrictions placed on the latter by law. In addition to accessing funding, the Trust is empowered to promote specific projects, thus allowing the Community Council to concentrate on general issues. It plays an important role in our village.
Full membership is restricted to permanent residents but associate membership is open to anybody who is interested in the working of the village.
Any voting member can be a director of the Trust. To be put forward for election as a director you have to apply in writing to the company secretary 7 days before the AGM and have a signed proposer and seconder who also have to be voting members. A voting member is a paid member on the voters role.
