Golf Club News – November

Just a wee update on the final event of the 2018 season.   A group of 7 members and guest were treated to a fabulous weekend arranged in his usual fashion by Jimmy Gilmour in what was his final fling arranging our outings.  We were booked into the Old Loans Inn at Troon and all agreed that the experience was excellent. We were treated to a fabulous weekend and the staff at the hotel were amongst the best we have experienced at any hotel.

The golf was unusually of a very high standard beginning on day one at Glasgow Gailes Golf Course and then onto a windy but unbelievably mainly dry Dundonald Golf Links and finally on Sunday to a sunny and tremendous Barassie Golf Club. Our overall winner was Gavin Watt closely followed by Callum McArthur and Jimmy Gilmour and our numbers were made up of a supporting cast of Jim Hogg, Iain Gray, Alan Turnbull and Stewart Lynch.

The annual November outing is normally a fabulous weekend and is one we are keen to promote and expand so any suggestions as to a group of courses that you feel would be suitable for next year then please feel free to send me the details and I will pass them onto our new Outing Organiser Danny Butchart for him to consider and decide where our next adventure Will be.

As many of you will already know we have a new committee in place for season 2019 and the new committee would like to start the coming year by inviting all club members to join us in a winter league. We are all too aware of the winters at Drimsynie but over the next 4 months we would like to try to offer you the opportunity to maintain and enjoy some competitive {and social) golf on the days when you are here.  The league will run from 10th November till 14th March and will give us all the chance to keep our competitive spirit going.

The committee has high hopes we can open new doors and maintain the development of both golfing and social events in the 2019 calendar and hope you will all help and support us in attempting to continue to make this Golf Club second to none.
