Debby Rough of Outreach Service Co-Ordinator, Crossroads Caring for Carers Cowal and Bute will partake in a sponsored swim from Corrow Bay to the Village Carpark on The Gala Day held on Saturday 28th July 2018. This is to raise funds to support local carers in this area which includes Lochgoil. The swim starts at 12.45pm from Corrow Bay followed by the Raft Races at 1.45pm and 2pm.
Sponsor Sheets for the Crossroads Lochgoil Swim are available from Iain MacInnes and from the Crossroads Stall on the Gala Day. The swim which is approximately 1 mile is to raise awareness and funds to support unpaid carers and to help keep our community in their homes.
On Wednesday 27th June 2018, Crossroads are holding an Open Day in the Village Hall commencing at 12,45 for 1pm. Iain Hunter, Community Firefighter of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service will give a presentation on free home fire safety and will cover all home safety. He will also offer home visits. This will be followed by an Out-of-Hours presentation by Heather Greir which covers rural areas. This is your chance to raise your concerns to support your community.
The third sector, A & B Council may also be in attendance (TBC) – 1pm until 3pm. This is your chance to be heard to support your community and for your Local Council to support you. Discussions will include the improvement and delivery of social care and health service in our community.
