It’s Cowal Open Studios again and we are now in our 9th year.
This year we have 10 new artists and plenty of fine new work for you to see
The event is now a fixed date in the calendar events of Cowal and Argyll.
Visitors from near and far make their wandering way across this beautiful peninsular to the homes and studios of an eclectic mix of working artists.
Open Studio events provide a wonderful opportunity for both artists and visitors to meet and blether, enquire about working methods, view exciting and original work and perhaps make a personal purchase or see something unique for a gift.
At COS you will find artists working in a variety of media from painting in watercolour, oil, acrylic, drawing & pastels, wood carving, textiles, ceramics, jesmonite, stained glass, basketry, printmaking, sculpture, classical guitar making, jewellery, metalwork and photography.
Each year COS invites a guest artist or two to exhibit and to give talks on their work. This year we are fortunate to have 9 artists from Art Map. Exceptional work from working artists to the north of Cowal, Art Map will exhibit in the Dunoon Burgh Hall pop-up shop in Argyll St. Dunoon from 9th to 26th September. Visit www.dunoonburghhall.org.uk for further details.
PREVIEW EXHIBITION. To view a selection of work from each COS artist, the CREGGANS INN, Strachur will host a taster exhibition opening on Sunday 4th Sept from 2pm (all welcome) until Monday 26th Sept, giving visitors ideas of how to plan their Cowal Open Studios visits according to their tastes.
