Cormonachan Woodlands Open Day 12th June – Report

Cormonachan Woodlands Open Day 12th June

Thank you to all those who attended and helped out at the CWA Open Day and special thanks to Ardroy for their donations of food and drink. Although we were somewhat outnumbered by midgies who were making the most of the change in the weather, we still managed to have a great event.

There were some really interesting Woodcraft Demonstrations (Pole Lathe, Shaving Horse and Spoon Making); the AGM was held with the existing committee being re-elected and a Barbecue Lunch followed. There was also a children’s Treasure Hunt with prizes on the Squirrel Trail. Apologies to anyone who turned up after 3pm but unfortunately the midges got the better of us and the event was cut short, so the Guided Walk and volunteer taster opportunities were cancelled. AGM minutes are available on the website.

The main aim of the Open Day was to raise funds for the new car park which will make it easier for people to access the woodlands. The fund currently stands at £890 so there is some way to go to reach the required £4000 – if you would like to make a donation then please go to our website’s Latest News page at where you can Donate to the Car Park Fund via PayPal or see us at the Lochgoil Gala Day on 30 July.
