Meet the Trust

Lochgoil Community Trust Ltd.

Scottish Charity No. SCO33976

Introduction

The Lochgoil Community Trust was set up so as to be able to access lottery money which was not an option available to Community Councils as they were a part of local government. The Community Trust opens up access to a range of grants and funds under it’s charitable status.,

Examples

  • A new River Walk path completed with a grant from Scottish National Heritage
  • £80,000+ raised for the children’s play park in the Arboretum
  • A further£8,000 to put swings in play park
  • In partnership with Ardroy (under Fife Council) the Trust created the Squirrel Walk at Cormonachan.
  • Commissioned Baby Hydro (£40,000+ spent) to survey Donich Water (unsuitable) and Cormonachan so as to develop a Community Hydro Scheme. On completion it is hope dthat this will generate income for the community. The Trust is working with the Forestry Commission on this project.
