Village Hall Notes

The Village Hall has had a busy month in October with three events from Argyll Arts Collective, on top of the usual meeting and clubs

The shows varied from and evening of Celtic Music and tales on the 5th  from an accomplished musician Jamie Lavall which was reported as a “Superb Music” to a Comedy performance of Growth by the Paines Plough touring company on the 18th which was well received and offered a different evenings entertainment with three talented actors performing a very funny tale about a very unfunny subject

And still to come  at point of writing  A Company of Wolves, an up and coming dance theatre company from Glasgow, performing their two-man show ‘ A Brief History of Evil’ on Sunday 30th October at 7 pm.

Check out Argyll Arts Collective of the info website or Facebook and get a ticket for their events it’s not expensive but it is a good reason to get out and enjoy some different entertainment

The Village hall was the venue for a Wedding on 21st October with some interior lighting changes being carried out beforehand

Plans for redecoration of the hall are ongoing with a team of volunteers carrying out a days cleaning of the high paintwork and dusting the nooks and crannies of the hall a very large vote of thanks for those who took part. But we could do with few more volunteer painters for the big paint day.

The Village Hall Volunteer Group are having a sausage Sizzle BBQ on Saturday 4th November during the Fireworks display  with Hot Food, and Hot and Cold Drinks and a bar drinks available  A marquee will be erected in the Village Car Park to accommodate spectators should it be wet

Looking ahead to December, the Hogmanay Party is, as predicted a couple of months ago, a complete sell out with all 120 ticket being pre booked by first week in October the event will be run along lines of last year with doors open from eight o,clock  and please note doors will closing  just after nine. So don’t be late or you,ll miss the gate. All pre booked tickets are to be paid by November 7th latest with any unpaid tickets being made available to a very long and hopeful reserve list thereafter.  Contact a team member for details
